Finally In

Wow, I'm terribly sorry I've been so terribly bad about updating. We have been (and still sort of are) in the process of moving to our house in the country. It has been a busy, happy couple of days, or rather weeks. We are finally here in the house and I am immensely enjoying the amazing kitchen. It's so nice to finally be in a house. I've been working on setting up my room as well as the kitchen and getting back to sewing. My latest project is a regency gown for the Valentine's Day Dance that I'm attending. I'll try and post some pics soon. I'm in the process of trying to get the program that I need on my laptop to compress the pictures properly. Thank you for your patience and forbearance.
God Bless,

The Winds of Change

Well... the winds of change, kept change from occurring:(. Today we were planning on moving over to our house in the country, but the wind and snow collaborated to pile up insurmountable drifts. Thus, the move has been postponed, til when? I'm not sure, we'll try again tomorrow:). It's so exciting being this close to finishing and moving in! I've been sort of out of it for the past couple of days with a real bad headache, though it's somewhat better now. I'll try and keep y'all posted on the progress.

The Grady Family Visit

Today we had a delightful visit with the Grady family today. We played Apples to Apples while enjoying pizza, salad and veggies, with, of course, ice cream for desert. Then we all gathered back in the event room for a devotional that Mr. Grady brought. He spoke on the Love Chapter, I John 4. He brought out the fact that Love and Abide go hand in hand. God has given us the perfect example of this. He doesn't just say "I love you" and then disappear, only "popping in" every now and again, rather He ABIDES in us. So often its easy to "love" from a distance, but the true test is when we actually come in contact with those that we're to love. I know for me it's really easy to say that I love my family when I'm in my room doing devotions, but it gets much more difficult when I'm trying to cook dinner and little guys are in and out of the already small kitchen and littering the tile with cars (you know how painful it is to step on a matchbox car? especially some of them!!!). So... in the year 2010... I'm going to work on the Abiding love, not just the distant kind.

After the insightful devotional we watched A Widows Might, directed and produced by John Moore (check it out at: www.thewidowsmightthemovie.com)
After the movie, while Caleb and Daniel cooked up some hot dogs, the majority of the rest of us had a load of fun learning/teaching some "line dances". After dinner we squeezed in one more "dance lesson" and then the Grady's headed home.
And now here I am... writing and the guys are downstairs doing who knows what, oh wait, it's after 8pm, so... they're probably cleaning up the business.
Well I'm going to close and call it a night (I was up 'til 2am this morning, what a way to bring in the new year, tired and exhausted, hmmm I think I'm getting old or something!). Anyways... I'm also not drinking any caffeine SO... I'm pretty much exhausted! I think I'll make myself a nice hot cup of herbal tea and sign out!
I hope y'all had as good a New Year's Day as I did!

New Year, New Page... Sort of

I've always thought that the New Year gave us a "clean sheet" whereupon we inscribe the history of the year as it goes by. A clean sheet, a new start, another chance. Well in some ways this is the case, but as I realized today, the sheet might be new but I'm still in the equation, and so, though the sheet is new... the same old me is filling it! So... that requires a different approach, not just, "The history I write will be better this year, now that I don't have all the junk from the beginning of 2009" But "This year I won't try and write the future, but I'll stick to recording the past and follow God's lead, not seeking to blaze my own trails." We'll see how 2010 goes and what it holds, it's really exciting... in a frightening sort of way!
